23 Arrested After 100 Shots Fired Near Toronto Recording Studio, Police Seize 16 Firearms

Toronto, Canada – In a dramatic late-night shootout near a recording studio in downtown Toronto, police have arrested 23 people after nearly 100 shots were fired between two groups. The incident, which occurred near Queen Street West and Sudbury Street around 11:20 p.m. last night, left the community stunned but, remarkably, caused no injuries.

Toronto Police Deputy Chief Lauren Pogue called it “remarkable” that no one was hurt during the exchange of gunfire. The violence erupted when a stolen vehicle pulled up to the recording studio, and three individuals exited the car to open fire on a group gathered outside. What followed was a chaotic gun battle between the two groups, with some bullets striking an unmarked police cruiser occupied by officers conducting an unrelated investigation nearby.

Acting swiftly, officers managed to box in the stolen car as the suspects attempted to flee. Although two suspects escaped and remain at large, police were able to arrest 23 people and recover 16 firearms, several of which were found inside the recording studio.

This incident is a stark reminder of the rising crime rates in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) over the past few years, particularly involving gun violence. The escalation of such violent encounters has alarmed both residents and authorities. Deputy Chief Pogue emphasized the danger posed to the public and police officers during the shootout and reaffirmed the Toronto Police Service’s commitment to tackling the increasing crime in the region.

The growing concern over gun violence in the GTA has prompted law enforcement to intensify their efforts in curbing illegal firearm activity. This latest seizure of firearms and arrests is seen as part of a broader effort to address the surge in violent crimes that have plagued the region in recent years.

As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with information about the two at-large suspects to come forward. Community safety remains a top priority, and authorities are working to restore a sense of security in the affected areas.
